Second City is proud to announce its series of 2012 workshops aimed at sharing its couture techniques and fashion design skills. Learn how to craft exquisite beautifully designed garments. The workshops will be suitable for beginners, intermediate and more advanced levels. (Depending on demand)
No previous pattern cutting experience is required; you will be given step by step instructions. You will only need previous basic sewing machine experience.
The first series of workshops begins with secondcity’s ‘Fabric manipulation’ week
Learn how to Manipulate fabric for a fashion forward skirt or top
The workshop will consist of: (depending on garment choice)
- Smocking (honeycomb)
- Pin tucking
- Shirring
- Applique and reverse applique
- Ruching.
Then learn how to pattern cut and assemble a beautifully designed couture led skirt or top, to fit your own or standard size. You will make a `toile’ (sample) to your own or standard specific measurements, then complete a final garment in the fabric of your choice All machinery and pattern cutting equipment will be supplied; you only need to buy your final fabric choice.
There will be a total of 6 students in each workshop which is ideal for one to one and group tuition.

Monday 13th 5.30pm - 9.00pm
Tuesday 14th 5.30pm - 9.00pm
Thursday 16th 6.00pm - 9.00pm
Saturday 18th 10am - 4.00pm
Total 20 hours
Price: £170.00
